Tour Plan
Day 1:
- On arrival at Bagdogra (IXB) Airport or New Jalpaiguri (NJP), get greeted by our representative.
- From here, board our vehicle for Gangtok.
- Enjoy your scenic drive to Gangtok through the meandering roads along the Teesta River.
- Reach Gangtok, check into your hotel, and head out for half-day sightseeing in Gangtok.
- Upon completing the sightseeing, return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 2:
- After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion around Gangtok.
- Start by visiting the glacial Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake, famous for its scenic beauty and changing colors.
- Continue driving towards Baba Mandir, dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, a soldier of the Indian Army.
- Next, hire a taxi to visit Nathula Pass, an Indo-China border post (subject to availability and additional costs).
- Return to Gangtok for an overnight stay.
Day 3:
- After breakfast, drive to Lachen (125 km / 6 hours).
- On the way, take a short stopover at Naga Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in Sikkim.
- Cross Chungthang Village, where the Lachen and Lachung Rivers meet.
- Take the left road from Chungthang and travel through Kanchenjunga National Park to reach Lachen.
- Enjoy an overnight stay in Lachen.
Day 4:
- Have your breakfast early in the morning and prepare for the day.
- Travel further north to visit Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the country.
- En route, pass through Thangu Village (13,450 ft), a remote high-altitude village of Tibetan Nomads.
- Spend some time admiring the views of Gurudongmar Lake, named after Guru Padmasambhava.
- Begin your drive to Lachung, having lunch along the way.
- Upon reaching Lachung in the evening, check in and rest.
- Enjoy an overnight stay in Lachung.
Day 5:
- Post breakfast in the morning, start your drive north of Lachung.
- The first stop for the day will be Yumthang Valley, known as “the valley of flowers” and often referred to as “the Switzerland of the North East” due to its scenic beauty.
- Visit the Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary, which lies within Yumthang Valley.
- After exploring the valley, you have the option to visit Zero Point, the last outpost of civilization.
- Upon completing the sightseeing, begin your drive back to Gangtok.
- Reach Gangtok and check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 6:
- Have your breakfast at the hotel and board your transfer to Pelling, located in the west of Sikkim.
- On the way to Pelling, take a short stopover at Ravangla or Namchi.
- In Ravangla, visit Buddha Park, which houses a 130 ft. high Shakyamuni Buddha statue surrounded by well-manicured gardens with scenic views of the Himalayan ranges.
- If you take the Namchi route, visit the Namchi Chardham Complex, featuring a 108 ft. high statue of Lord Shiva encircled by replicas of the Chardham.
- Continue your journey toward Pelling through scenic roads offering beautiful views of the Kanchenjunga Ranges.
- Reach Pelling and check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 7:
- Have your breakfast at the hotel and head out to explore Pelling.
- Begin your local sightseeing by visiting Khecheopalri Lake, known as the wish-fulfilling lake.
- Next, visit the scenic Rimbi Waterfalls, followed by a serene stroll at the Rimbi Orange Garden, which is full of orange trees, cardamom plants, and other flowering plants.
- Explore Darap Village near Pelling to seek peace and get closer to nature.
- Visit India’s Highest Skywalk, which houses the tallest 137-foot Chenrezig statue.
- Head to the Rabdentse Ruins to gain insight into the glorious past of Sikkim.
- Conclude your day’s sightseeing by seeking blessings at the Pemayangtse Monastery.
- Return to the hotel in Pelling for an overnight stay.
Day 8:
- Have your breakfast at the hotel in Gangtok and prepare for the day.
- Today, transfer to Darjeeling, one of the most beautiful hill stations in the Himalayas.
- Travel through curvy mountain roads, enjoying views of the mighty Himalayas in the background.
- As you enter Darjeeling, the roads will be lined with aromatic tea plantations.
- Reach your hotel in Darjeeling and check in for an overnight stay.
Day 9:
- Your day will start early at 4 AM.
- Head to the top of Tiger Hill to watch an amazing sunrise on Mt. Kanchenjunga and its adjoining peaks, which change colors as painted by the morning sun rays.
- After the sunrise, return to the hotel for breakfast.
- Later, enjoy the famous toy train ride of Darjeeling, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- This 2-hour train ride will start from Darjeeling, with a 25-minute stop at Ghum Station before returning to Darjeeling via Batasia Loop.
- The train will stop for 10 minutes at Batasia Loop, an Army Memorial dedicated to the Gorkha Regiment, where you can admire a 360-degree panoramic view of Darjeeling lined with Himalayan peaks.
- After the toy train ride, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), which also features Tenzing Rock, to learn about the history of mountaineering in India.
- Next, visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays) to see Red Pandas and other Himalayan animals.
- Later, enjoy a small ropeway ride over the lush green tea plantations, taking in the views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks.
- Conclude your sightseeing with a visit to the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda, where you can meditate in its serene atmosphere.
- Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 10:
- Wake up to a beautiful morning in Darjeeling and enjoy your breakfast at the hotel.
- After breakfast, board your transfer to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP).
- Your tour concludes once you are dropped off at the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
- Board your train or flight back home, cherishing the fantastic memories from your trip.
